ZIMBABWE – Zambian fishermen have been arrested for fishing in Lake Kariba on the Zimbabwean side illegally.
Zambia’s Siavonga district commissioner Lovemore Kanyama said the fishermen were arrested on Monday while they were fishing kapenta on the Zimbabwean side without authority.
He said the Zimbabwean security officers also confiscated two fishing vessels.
Kanyama said the fishermen are detained at Kariba Town police station.
The fishermen were expected to appear in a Zimbabwean court Wednesday.
