If you are new to Dar es Salaam, Nyerere Road is one of the main roads in the city. Previously known as Pugu Road because it goes from the city center to Pugu in the southwest of Dar es Salaam.
This road starts at Gerezani Street, passes the Tazara railway station and the Julius Nyerere International Airport, and continues to Gongo la Mboto.
At the intersection of Nyerere Road and Nelson Mandela Road, there is the Mfugale flyover, which has helped reduce traffic congestion in the area.
