HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday announced a string of new ministerial appointments to fill several vacancies.
Much of the attention was on who were going to land the transport and foreign affairs portfolios following the death of Joel Biggie Matiza and Sibusiso Moyo who both succumbed to Covid-19 last month.
Following the announcement that scandal-ridden ambassador to the United Nations, Fredrick Shava would take over the much critical foreign affairs ministry, social media was flooded with reactions and most critical of the appointment.
This was expected given his corruption record.
Below are some of the comments zimDaily took from a survey of online reactions:
Cabinet of Convicts and Bandits! That Shava is an ex-con.

I feel pity for ZNA, after the 2017 coup- all of them have been neutralized one by one! Kusvasvangwa.
Shava was appointed to appease the Chinese as he was once ambassador to China and he was once convicted for looting in Zimbabwe so yaa #DemLoot

We wish them well in their deployment, may the grace and Wisdom of God be their piller during their service. Let them know that all Authority is rooted on God himself as a person we don't expect them to humiliate us especially with corrupt and office abuse acts.
