BULAWAYO – Zimbabwe’s biggest international trade exhibition, Zimbabwe Internation Trade Fair (ZITF) will this year be held in July marking a return after it was suspended last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a government official has said.
The event held annually in the country’s second capital, Bulawayo will this year be held in July instead of the usual April dates as the country continues to make efforts towards containing the spread of the coronavirus.
In a letter, the permanent secretary in the ministry of industry and commerce, Mavis Sibanda said the green light had been given for this year’s event.
“Please be advised that the President has approved that Zimbabwe International Trade Fair be held during the period 20th to 23rd July 2021,” read the letter.
Zimbabwe recently embarked on an ambitious vaccination programme that is targeting to inoculate at least 60% of the population to achieve herd immunity.
Following the rolling out of the programme, the government has gradually opened up the economy.
