ZIMBABWE- A prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries security guard allegedly assaulted a man passing through the church grounds accusing him of trespassing.
Artwell Murwira, 30, appeared before Mbare magistrate Kudzai Zihove facing assault charges.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges arguing that the complainant Ashley Neshamba was passing through where there was no road and that he did not assault him but only barred him from passing through.
“Your worship he is fabricating the charges, I did not beat him up. Neshamba is just bitter that I stopped him from trespassing” he said.
The matter was remanded to today for trial continuation.
Allegations are that Neshamba was walking home carrying cucumbers when he passed through PHD premises in Waterfalls.
He met Murwira who was patrolling the areas and he told him that he could not pass through since there was no road.
This did not go down well with Neshamba and a heated argument ensued between the two.
Murwira is alleged to have called other guards and cleaners, they teamed up together to assault Neshamba and in the process he lost his cucumbers meant for resale and a Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone was destroyed.
He sustained a swollen leg, bruises on hands and his damaged property is valued at US$250 and nothing was recovered.
Neshamba lodged a complaint with the police leading to Murwira’s arrest.
