ZIMBABWE – A 54-year-old man was arrested after he stabbed his co-tenant to death following a dispute in their room.
Raftopoulos Kevin Gerald, of No.4 Milnerton Crescent Braeside, Harare, yesterday appeared in court facing charges of killing his co-tenant Antony James.
He was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before magistrate Tendai Mahwe who remanded him in custody to February 25.
Raftopoulos was advised to approach the High Court for bail application.
The State led by Sebastian Mutizirwa had it that on February 6, Raftopoulos and James where in their room.
It is said that they picked a misunderstanding which ended with the two quarrelling at around midnight.
The quarrelling is said to have ended up with Raftopoulos stabbing his roommate on the chest.
James screamed which attracted the attention of neighbours who rushed to the room and saw him lying whilst bleeding profusely.
Raftopoulos went on to stab Lance Dante Lovell on his hand.
