ZIMBABWE – Liberty Jaravaza who is a general practitioner at Parirenyatwa group Hospitals was found in car at around 8pm along High Glen road in the company of Anna Chinyani.
The two were spotted in compromising position in the car by Batsirai Mupfeki who is Anna’s husband.
Batsirai is said to have forced open the car door and pulled Anna out of the car and Liberty intervened.
When liberty intervened it is alleged that Batsirai assaulted him, accusing him of bedding his wife.
Liberty was left nursing a broken collar bone, a swollen eye and a painful leg.
According to the medical affidavit the injuries he sustained were severe.
He then lodged a complaint with the police leading to Batsirai’s arrest.
Batsirai pleaded not guilty to assault charges when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Kudzai Zihove.
He told the court that he did not attack Liberty, instead they fought after Liberty provoked him by having an affair with his wife.
On the other hand Liberty maintains that he is not having an affair with Anna.
He argued that it was all a big misunderstanding, claiming that he was just helping Anna his friend to secure a job
Batsirai was remanded out of custody with strict warnings to continue staying at his given address and not to interfere with the witnesses to February 8 for trial continuation.
The State led by Allois Matumbarira alleges that on January 20 at around 8pm Liberty parked his car along High Glen road near Glad Tidings church.
He sat in the car with Anna chatting and kissing.
Anna is said to have spotted her husband passing by.
She told Liberty to close the car windows but he refused.
It is said Batsirai returned, forced open the door and dragged Anna out, hurting her in the process.
Liberty intervened and Batsirai lost his temper.
He is alleged to have pounced on Liberty with fists, kicking him and slapping accusing him of snatching his wife.
Liberty sustained serious injuries and sought medical attention.
