BULAWAYO – Police have arrested six suspects in connection with a number of armed robbery cases that rocked Bulawayo since the beginning of the year, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi has confirmed.
The six are Abednico Ndlovu (29), Atkins Mahinzwi (36), Bruce Moyo (30), Zenzo Siziba (42), Kelvin Dzumbunu (29) and Gift Mwale (38).
In a statement, Nyathi said the police had arrested one of the suspects after a tip-off and he then implicated the accomplices.
“Police nabbed one of the suspects after a tip-off from the members of the public and he implicated the other accomplices leading to their arrest. The suspects mainly targeted service stations and homesteads before robbing victims of the valuables,” he said.

“So far the gang is linked to 14 cases of robbery in which properties worth US$164 032.00, ZAR 890.00 and ZWL $500.00 were stolen.”
The police say they recovered a gun, magazine with six rounds, masks among other things suspected to have been used in committing the crimes.
A growing number of armed robbery cases in the country has raised alarms.
